Dog Food Recipes, Minced/Ground Pork
Pork is a relatively affordable meat in comparison to lamb or beef, yet it still contains much needed protein, fat and other critical nutrients. Ask your butcher if he can make you a mix of some parts you pick out. Some butchers will say no because it takes them extra time but if he sees you on a regular basis and knows your a buyer and not a time waster I’m sure you can negotiate.
When i make and type of mince i will make as much as i possibly can and then freeze it in containers for later times. For this dog food recipe you can use good cuts of pork or as i mentioned ask the butcher to use things like ears, stomach, feet, bone, fat and of course some high protein parts like the shoulder or leg.
- Between 250 Grams & 3 Kg(6Lb) Of Pork Mince
- 1 Clove Garlic For Every Half Kilo(Pound)
- Handful Of Parsley
- 1 Egg For Every 250 Grams
There really is not much to this recipe, you stick all your ingredients into a large bowl and mix it all up. Make sure to crush the garlic and not chop it. Separate all of the meat into your dogs portion. My lab eats between 250-500 grams each meal.
You can feed this to your dog just like this or you can mix it with his/her kibble, mix with rice or pasta or even boil it and feed with some of the water.
